Corporate Actions

A corporate action is an event that brings material change to a company that could affect the value of its stock. Examples of corporate actions are dividends, splits, mergers, or acquisitions, among others.

Upcoming dividends and stock splits for a symbol will be shown under the corporate actions tab on the trading tile. This tab remains closed if there are no announced dividends or stock splits for your holdings.

Types of Corporate Actions

Dividends

Dividends can be paid in cash or stock. To be entitled to a dividend, you must purchase the respective shares before the ex-date. To learn more, click here.

Dividends are typically credited to your Ustocktrade account within 1 to 2 business days after the payment date.

Forward splits

A forward split is when an issuer increases shares outstanding without a corresponding change in the value of the company. The number of shares you own will increase and price per share will decrease, while the value of your position will remain unchanged.

Reverse splits

A forward split is when an issuer decreases shares outstanding without a corresponding change in the value of the company. The number of shares you own will decrease and price per share will increase, while the value of your position will remain unchanged.

Ustocktrade does not support fractional shares, therefore, if you are due fractional shares after a reverse split, you will receive cash in lieu of your fractional share, if any.

Rights  or Warrant Offerings

Rights and warrants distributed by the issuer of any your holdings will be promptly credited to your account when received by our clearing firm.

If you wish to learn more about the terms of a right or warrant you own, please contact Ustocktrade Support with a request or obtain the information from the investor page on the issuer’s website.

If you wish to exercise a right or warrant, please contact Ustocktrade Support.

Spin-off offerings and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

Stock distributions from spin-offs or mergers and acquisitions will be credited to your account on the effective date.

If you are due fractional shares as a result of a spin-off offering or mergers and acquisitions, cash in lieu will be credited to your account, if any.

The projections or other information regarding the likelihood of various investment outcomes are hypothetical in nature, are not guaranteed for accuracy or completeness, do not reflect actual investment results and are not guarantees of future results. All investments involve risk, losses may exceed the principal invested, and the past performance of a security, industry, sector, market, or financial product does not guarantee future results or returns. Consider the investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses of a fund before investing. Contact us for a prospectus containing this information.

Investors should consider the investment objectives, risks, and charges and expenses of a mutual fund or Exchange Traded Fund ("ETF") carefully before investing. Before investing in any mutual fund or ETF, you should consider its investment objective, risks, charges and expenses. Contact us at support@ustocktrade.com for a prospectus, offering circular or, if available, a summary prospectus containing this information. Read it carefully. ETFs are subject to market fluctuation and the risks of their underlying investments. ETFs are subject to management fees and other expenses. Unlike mutual funds, ETF shares are bought and sold at market price, which may be higher or lower than their NAV, and are not individually redeemed from the fund. Investment returns will fluctuate and are subject to market volatility, so that an investor's shares, when redeemed or sold, may be worth more or less than their original cost. ETFs are subject to risks similar to those of stocks. Some specialized exchange-traded funds can be subject to additional market risks. Leveraged and inverse exchange traded products are not designed for buy and hold

investors or investors who do not intend to manage their investment on a daily basis. These products are for sophisticated investors who understand their risks (including the effect of daily compounding of leveraged investment results), and who intend to actively monitor and manage their investments on a daily basis.
